PERANCANGAN DAN PEMBUATAN FILM ANIMASI 2D “LEGENDA PUTRI GADING CEMPAKA” MENGGUNAKAN ADOBE FLASH CS5

Every province in Indonesia has its own folklores and folktales. Bengkulu as one of the provinces in Indonesia also has many folklores, one of the most famous ones is The Legend of Putri Gading Cempaka”. During the past years, those folklores can only be read on the printed media or magazines. It will definitely be more interesting if they can be more appreciated in the form of animated film. This idea of course can be a way to develop the creativity and the animated movie industry itself related to the hyper-distribution of foreign-made animated films in Indonesia.The process of designing “The Legend of Putri Gading Cempaka” 2D animated film passed three phases of making, which are pre-production, production, and post-production. The software used in creating this animation film were Adobe Flash CS5, Adobe Photoshop CS3, Corel Draw X4, Audacity 1.3 Beta, Adobe After Effect CS3, Free SWF to AVI Converter and Adobe Premiere CS3. The result of this designing and creating this animation film was a 2D animated film which was hoped to be able to entertain and introduce the folklores of “The Legend of Putri Gading Cempaka” to the society
